Physician House Calls on Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, & Cape Cod
Lutanen Health is a Mass General Brigham–affiliated concierge primary care practice bringing physician house calls to Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, and Cape Cod. Adult medicine and pediatrics, for the whole household, at your home.
We are gathering a founding group of 10 families. Membership is limited to 50 families per physician to ensure deep, responsive care whenever you require it.
How the program is designed

On-island and off
Your relationship with your clinician continues when you leave the island. It is the same practice, so your records and results come back to Boston with you.
Who we are
Lutanen Health was founded by Jay Luthar, MD, Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School and board-certified in Internal Medicine, Lifestyle Medicine, and Integrative Medicine. The practice is affiliated with Mass General Brigham.
Every Lutanen physician carries a deliberately small panel. In the Cape and Island program, that means no physician will ever serve more than 50 families.
The island program physician
Day to day, the program will be led by a dedicated physician and team trained to care for patients of all ages, from young children to grandparents, with additional training in integrative health. One physician team cares for the whole household, practicing the same whole-person medicine that defines Lutanen in Boston.
We work closely with Nantucket Cottage Hospital, Martha’s Vineyard Hospital, and Cape Cod Healthcare. They do what only a hospital can do. Our job is to keep you out of the waiting room when you don’t need it.
Membership options
Continuous care on the island and off. The right choice if you live here, come in every season, or want Lutanen as your primary care practice outright.
Both options include house calls, direct access to your clinician, and coordination with Mass General Brigham and other academic medical centers as needed.

Yes, that is what this program is: physician house calls for member households on Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, and Cape Cod, covering adult medicine and pediatric care.
Yes. The program’s physician is trained in both internal medicine and pediatrics, so children and adults in the same household see the same doctor. Everyday childhood illness and minor injuries are treated at home.
Primary care that handles urgent needs. Members have a physician who knows their history rather than a rotating provider, and year-round members can use Lutanen as their primary care practice entirely.
No physician in the Cape and Island Program will ever carry more than 50 families.
No. The program is open to new households. Current Lutanen Health members receive priority placement and preferred terms.
Fees depend on household size and on season versus year-round enrollment, and are discussed in your call with the practice before any commitment. The waitlist deposit is $5000 and fully refundable.
Yes. It is refunded in full, for any reason, at any point before you enroll. If you enroll, it applies toward your membership.
Membership fees are not insurance and do not replace your health coverage. They cover the program’s access and services insurance does not. How your particular plan applies to house call visits is one of the things we walk through in your call with the practice.
Membership covers your household, and island households are rarely simple. Tell us who is usually under your roof, visiting family included, and we will shape the membership around it in your call with the practice.
Yes. The island program is part of the same practice, so members have access to our advanced diagnostics, biomarker analysis, longevity and performance testing, and integrative and lifestyle medicine. The specific services available on-island will be shared with waitlist households before enrollment.
Call 911. This is not an emergency service. In an emergency, members are cared for by Nantucket Cottage Hospital, Martha’s Vineyard Hospital, or Cape Cod Healthcare, and we coordinate with the hospital and Mass General Brigham throughout.
Year-round members have continuous coverage on the island and off. Seasonal members keep their records and their relationship with the practice through the off months, and can move to year-round island membership or to our Boston practice whenever it makes sense for the family.
